Golf Daddy Golf Simulator Review: Is It Worth It?
Hands-on review, tested in 2024. I bought the Golf Daddy Golf Simulator with my own money and used it for a few weeks. This is a review of the version I used, from the perspective of a normal golfer who enjoys golf technology. It is not a test of any later hardware or software changes. Short answer: Golf Daddy was a fun, low-commitment way to make a few practice swings indoors without hitting a real ball. It was not reliable enough in my testing to recommend as a launch monitor or a serious tool for improving your golf.

Best for: casual golfers who want a golf-themed indoor game, have limited space and like the idea of swinging without a ball.
Skip it if: you want dependable club or ball data, realistic distance feedback, a full-bag simulator experience or a practice tool to base technical changes on.
What I received and tested
My 2024 package included the compact simulator device, a tripod, a hitting mat and access to the iOS and Android apps. Product bundles, price and availability can change, so check the seller’s current listing before buying.
What worked well
- Simple setup: once the tripod was positioned correctly, getting started was straightforward. The on-screen guides helped with placement.
- No-ball practice: being able to swing indoors without a net or real ball is the clearest practical advantage.
- A more polished app than expected: the app was easy to navigate and made the experience feel more like a game than a spreadsheet.
- Solid-enough physical kit: the unit itself did not feel flimsy during the weeks I used it.
Where it fell short
- Distance accuracy: some readings were more than 10 yards away from what I expected, which makes the numbers difficult to trust for practice.
- Missed swings: tracking was inconsistent, so a good swing could occasionally go unrecorded.
- Limited club choice: the version I tested offered only an 8-iron, 9-iron, pitching wedge and sand wedge.
- Mat height: the mat was thick enough to affect the feeling of address for some swings.
Is Golf Daddy useful for improving your golf?
Not in the same way as a proper launch monitor. A device that regularly misses swings or gives unreliable distance readings is a poor basis for changing your technique or judging whether a practice session is working.
It can still be enjoyable if you treat it as a golf game and a reason to make a few swings at home. That is a different job from measuring ball flight or building a serious simulator setup. Verdict: is Golf Daddy worth it?
For casual indoor fun, it has some appeal. The setup is approachable, the app is easy to use and no-ball swings make it practical in spaces where you would not hit into a net.
For genuine practice, I would pass. The accuracy and tracking limitations I experienced mattered more than the novelty. Think of Golf Daddy as a golf-themed game rather than a budget replacement for a launch monitor.
